It's a bloody super duper boring at home. Why? coz I've just finished my job last week. It is supposed to be a long nice holidays after I've been moaning I haven't had enough time for myself. Just rang the instructor today, but she was not there. Hope she rings me back. I have heard that to be qualified driving in UK, you must at least have accomplished 40 lessons!! Whuaaattt???!! Do you have any idea how expensive that is? 40 lessons x £20 (an hour) = £800!!!
That sounds ridiculous, totally. I mean, you have to be well-prepared in moneywise. It's not like I am not prepared, but to hear the figures totally put me off.
I don't know it is a mistake or not but basically I have recently won the bid for iPod Nano on eBay. A mistake or not, regretting it or not, I just made a payment :( *sniff* Well, I always want it anyway, and when I got the chance to have it, I feel a bit guilty. Guilty for myself. LOL. Coz I am using my own money, that's why! WOuld it be nice to have things as presents? Nay!...Im quite happy to be able to buy it by my own blood and sweat. LOL
Hey, it's 2 Gigs by the way, could upload around 500 songs. Who would listen to 500 songs anyway? D'oh!!!
It's been knackering to work full time hours like this. I hardly ever have time to sort out things. Housechores for example. Or get time focusing on finding another jobs. It's been ages since I've planned editing my CV but I keep on delaying it. Simply because when I got home, all I wanna do is just laying down for a bit, chilling out and watch our fave DVD. By the time we finish doing what we do, it is always time to bed *sigh*
In my ideal world, spending Eid would be with my whole family and friends in Jakarta. SInce I could not accomplish that this year, so we went to London last Sunday until Tuesday. The Eid day fell on Monday. FYI (for your info) the Ramadhan and Eid keep changing every year because it is based on the Islamic calendar which only 11 months. On Monday we went to the Indonesian Ambassador Stately Home in London (in one of the posh area). We were welcome by the Ambassador and the family. All indonesian people from all classes & all religions mingled in the celebration. Likewise the tradition Eid in Indonesia, all people shaking hands for a hospitality gesture as well as asking forgiveness to each other. Well, the essence of the Eid itself is a day of victory for the muslim after a whole month fasting mentally and physically. Because in Ramadan, not only we are prohibited of eating and drinking, we also must restrict ourselves from negative behaviour i.e: jealousy, bad-temper, impatient, gossip-ing and etc.
So, on the day of victory, we celebrating by having food festive, socializing with others. In Indonesia, the gap between muslim and non muslim hardly seen. They normally live side by side. Well, maybe because the government encourages this. So, unlike in UK, the Christmas and Eid or any other religious celebration is considered Public Holiday in Indonesia.
Got lots of text messages as well from my muslim and non-muslim friends saying Happy Eid Fitri and asking forgiveness to each other for the mistakes that been said or done. Forgiving is also done not only between friends or neighbours but mostly to parents and/or husband/wife.
Not long now, the Eid Day will be coming. As you know Eid is a very special day for muslim (and us). So, this time of year we are thinking of going somewhere to celebrate it. Cant wait....
oh i got an unimportant gossip from work to share : well, there is this guy who happens to be a boss' son. He's damn cute, young and very decent, well-behaved. Basically, I've heard from this somebody who happens to be my friend's daughter working there as well, she told me that she slept with him, but unfortunately this boss' son "accidentally" told his male mates. So, she's not impressed about it. Although she still think that he is a nice guy. But for me, who happen to chat with him quite often, it was a bit of a shock, that a decent guy like would do lke that. Can't he really keep it to himself? Eww,,,,the tought of it make me wanna puke. Hubby said there was chance that maybe he is not into this girl that much. But still, the idea of a decent man, tally tale of his most private life? Uurrghh....
bloody hell, I know it aint any of my business. But it reminded me in the past, there was this guy at the same workplace with me trying to hit on me. I knew it was an unwise thing to get involved with anyone in the same working place. You know what? Turned out I was right, even when there was nothing happened between us, that jerk spread some nasty things about me. He said I was some kinda hot shot or something like that and he told people in my department that I intended to kiss him in the exit door! Totally freaking me out. I was like " oh well, he's charming" Months after that, he ended up got somebody else's pregnant and they got married not long after that. Yikes! See, you know what i mean??
Apart from Jack Straw thingy, I am doing fine. Planned to visit a friend in London and celebrate Eid coming this end of the month there. ANd, err...the new job is very well. I love the people there so far. They have this Xmas shopping trip coming in November, and they asked me to come even though they know I dont celebrate xmas. And I thought it would be fun just hang around and having cuppa with them in Manchester or Sheffield. Probably I might go with them. And also this Pink Day business on 27 of the month..gotta find a pink outfit for that. Going for opera house or something in the evening with Nick's colleague.
So got few plans lined-up already. But I'm suffering from winter. This freezing cold weather gonna make me sick ...
Such a stupid statement or an urge - whatever it is for a politician or Ex-Foreign Secretary to make. He knows damn well that being a politician, he must act and behave politically correct. But what we heard on telly this early morning does not impress us at all.
Jack Straw refuses to help the muslim women who wearing veil in his office. He urges them to take the veil off with an excuse "it hinders the communication"
It doesnt matter how people would look at this, but it still does not make it right of what he has done. Extremely being ignorant, that what he is. If he understands or trying to know better about the niqab (the veil that covers the face) then I assume he would not dare to make such statement. Mind you, especially in Ramadhan! It is their rights to wear whatever they want. If the naked and nude women pictures are allowed in the country then why trying to ban the muslim women wearing their religious clothes? Isn't it odd?
My husband and I are upset by this. As this country and the government claim as the free country. But I dont think it is free enough for the minority to practice their religion. If people start to fear of being or practising their belief, then there must be something wrong with the democracy.
WHat he has done completely showing how deep his lack of understanding.
